ARC Astro Turf sports field is available from 9am - 9pm.
We are fundraising to develop a multi-purpose community sports and recreational facility in the village of Ardfert. It will meet the needs of local sports clubs, community games, youth club, active retired group, the national school and the general community.
Phase 1 of this project, an AstroTurf pitch, is completed and now available for hire.

Weekdays Before 5pm:
Full Pitch – €40 per hour.
Half Pitch – Not Available.
Weekday 6pm-9pm:
Full Pitch – €90 per hour.
Half Pitch – €50 per hour.
Weekday 5pm-6pm, 9pm-10pm:
Full Pitch – €60 per hour.
Half Pitch – €40 per hour.
Weekend:
Full Pitch – €40 per hour.

Ardfert Recreation Centre AstroTurf Rules 2023/2024
To ensure the smooth running of the facility and maintain the quality for every user we request that your club/group adhere to some necessary rules and guidelines and that you communicate this to your players and users.
Firstly, the really, really important stuff – critical to keep the facility in great condition and not to damage the surface.
The following are PROHIBITED inside the gate of the field itself
- Football Boots with steel studs and/or blades – moulded studs are ok
- Athletic spike runners, any shoe with a heel especially high heels
- Food, drink and chewing gum
- Vehicles, roller skates, bicycles or any such similar items
- Tables, chairs, stakes or poles of any kind
- Animals of any kind
- Smoking
Please observe and follow all posted signs and adhere to social distancing and all general Covid guidelines. Groups are responsible for supplying their own hand sanitizer and should appoint a Covid Officer prior to using the facility.
It may be the case that a team is finishing up. You may enter the field sticking to the side-lines until your time to start is reached. There is plenty of room to the right-hand side of the pitch in the spectator area where you can wait your turn
Please leave the field of play as soon your time is up. You may use the spectator area beside the field (to the right as you enter) to gather your gear and prepare to exit.
Please take all your litter, bottles, gear and everything with you
- The pitch can be damaged – please be sensible.
- Water should only be brought onto the pitch in personal water bottles.
- Upon entry to the facility you will note that some of the area is still a site under construction so please act accordingly and stick to the booked areas only.
- Please drive and park responsibly. There may be young children around – take care
- Please don’t climb on fences, walls or gates or allow any of your group to do so.
- Group leaders are responsible for the conduct of his/her members/players and must ensure proper use of the facility by the group.
- Please always treat staff and fellow users with courtesy and respect.
- Ardfert Community Council cannot be held liable for the loss or damage of valuables during the use of the AstroTurf or during the time prior or after the use of the AstroTurf including damage to vehicles parked at the facility.
- It is strictly forbidden to sub-let the facility.
- ANY PLAYER PARTICIPATES AT THEIR OWN RISK AND IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH PLAYER TO ARRANGE EITHER THEIR OWN INSURANCE COVER OR A TEAM INSURANCE COVER THAT WILL COVER THEM FOR INJURY.
- ARDFERT COMMUNITY COUNCIL HOLD PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE ONLY AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR ANY INJURY SUSTAINED WHILST PLAYING IN THE PITCHES.
